Eliezer Ortiz
Founder & Security Engineer
Roots from Ocoa, technology in service of people.
Eliezer Ortiz was born and raised in San José de Ocoa, Dominican Republic, in a deeply Christian family built around service. His parents have led a local church for over 35 years, supporting their community across emotional, physical, spiritual, and educational needs. Growing up in that environment shaped the way he sees the world. Putting the needs of others first did not feel like a choice; it simply became part of who he is.
In 2006, the church launched a project to teach basic computing skills to low-income children, but the instructor had to leave unexpectedly, putting everything at risk right when the kids were most excited. Eliezer stepped in, designed a full program from scratch, and by the end, more than 30 children had completed it.
That experience confirmed something he had always felt but never quite put into words: serving others is not just an act of generosity, it is a source of purpose.

That conviction has shaped every meaningful decision he has made since.
Not long after, he married the woman who is today his wife and the mother of his two sons, David and Joaquín. Following their wedding in the Dominican Republic, Eliezer moved with her to the United States in 2019, and the two of them built a new life together in Maryland.
Building a Career with Purpose
Since arriving in the U.S., Eliezer has built a solid career across IT and cybersecurity, taking on increasingly demanding roles in advanced technical support, enterprise systems administration, identity and access management, and security analysis. That path led him to pursue a Master's degree in Cybersecurity Technology at the University of Maryland, where he deepened his expertise in digital forensics, vulnerability assessment, and incident response. Behind every certification and every project, though, the original motivation has stayed the same: using technical knowledge to open doors for people and organizations that need it most.
Why Maniel Ventures
The company's name was not chosen at random. Maniel was the original name given to San José de Ocoa, the very roots of the town that raised him. For Eliezer, naming his company after it is a way of carrying that place and those values into every project he takes on.
Over time, Eliezer came to understand that he had the capacity to do more than solve technical problems inside a single organization. He could build complete tools that help resource-limited institutions operate more efficiently and serve their communities better. That understanding is what gave rise to Maniel Ventures LLC.
The vision behind it has not changed since that improvised classroom in 2006: find a real need, take the initiative to address it, and trust that work done with genuine purpose always leaves a lasting mark. Today, that vision takes the form of platforms that help schools and organizations modernize how they operate.
How He Works
For Eliezer, building technology and securing it are two sides of the same responsibility. Both demand integrity, careful attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to the people and organizations that place their trust in his work. That way of serving, whether standing in front of a room full of students or building systems that organizations will rely on for years to come, has not changed with time. It remains grounded in the belief that work done with purpose always bears fruit.
